The biggest ever project of the school

In November 2008 a capital campaign was started to fundraise enough money to match the very generous contribution of the German government. For the school's biggest project, a new gym, €1,25 million was allocated. At the Christmas Bazaar 2008, seven donors matched the total amount of tombola tickets sold. This was a great start to the campaign. Ever since, many generous contributions have been coming in and so far we’ve reached over $700 000. The construction began just after the groundbreaking ceremony on May 29, 2009. Now the gym is standing and in its final stage of construction. The official opening ceremony will take place on May 29, 2010, exactly one year after the groundbreaking!

The new, larger gymnasium will be great for our school and our students

Our current gymnasium, with 2500 square feet, was originally built for elementary school children. The new gym will have 7400 square feet and meets the standard requirements for a high school sports facility and which also includes stands for spectators. The new gymnasium will enhance the school’s reputation as a place of physical fitness and academic excellence.

 

Help us equip the gym

Just before Christmas we started a campaign to equip the new gym. So far, we have received many generous contributions; we collected $19,350 of $44,750. Thank you to those who have already contributed! Your names will be recognized on our donor wall in the entrance hall of the new gym. Of the 25 types of gym equipment, 11 have been sponsored. We’ve accomplished quite a bit, but we still need your support and generosity to continue filling it! Here is the updated list.
